Help please help with reset problem and screen time out

ok so here is the problem. my dad uses the htc sensation for work like looking at stocks and emails and he hates the fact that the screen keeps timing out. i helped him search display in settings for the "never turn off" option so it doesnt time out but there was not such an option. thus he called htc and they recommended a factory reset and before that, i helped him move all his apps to his memory card so they dont get deleted. and after the reset, the apps were gone. i checked the memory card on the phone and it said 3.5 gb used but there was nothing shown. and the option for never time out thing is still not there. HELP PLEASE

I have the option on my phone, sw is 2.3.4. Maybe you don't have it as the sw is not updated ?
