Root Please Help!

I am completely stuck after trying to root... Is anyone willing to help? I cannot access my most needed app which is Baby ESP and I am not able to get past the recovery install. At this point I am completely lost.

I stated that I knew how to search... I owned my Hero for almost a year and loaded more roms than I could ever remember. I have tried every step that is listed for the EVO including that guide. I am still completely stuck which is why I posted.

I am sincerely asking for help here... I was able to root I believe but unable to install the recovery. Here is the deal, for what ever reason I am no longer able to see the Baby ESP app that I had bought and used for our new born. This app tracks everything and I use it hourly. I am asking for anyone who can help me out to please step up. This would really help me out. At this point I could care less about updating a ROM unless its needed to get my baby esp app back. I am open to anything.
