I have a rooted DX with 2.1 and it will not alow any custom roms to be installed... There is an OTA for 2.3.15 but will not update for some reason. I have read a great deal through these forums but still not sure what my next move should be.

I do not know what an .sbf is or where I can find one if thats the road I need to travel...

At this point I'm wondering if I should get back to how the factory had the phone and then try the 2.3.15 update, and then root?

Any suggestions?

if you have root. you cannot update to the OTA. using the bootstrapper and clockwork recovery you should be able to load a new rom without any issues.

Can I load any ROM on top of 2.1? Because I tried loading FlyX v0.1 FINAL but had no way of knowing if it loaded successfully....

i have not used fly x rom. but on many 2.2 roms you need the initial 2.2.9 leak loaded first then load other roms ontop of it.
