I just bought NC yesterday and I would to run the honeycomb of the SD card, but most of all I want to run Gingerbread because I hear its much more stable and I would be just happy with 2.3.

My issue is I have tried all freaking day to do it with now luck, is there a way I can just install it straight on the nook instead of the stupid Micro sd card.

I would again be happy with gingerbread installed on my NC.


Could some please let me kniow how and if I can installed 2.3 on the NC HDD.

Please help I'm desperate.
 
First, the obvious questions is, have you rooted your NC? If you haven't, then you must in order to run anything with any kind of speed and without using the sd card. Second, you need to be a litte more descriptive than "I've tried all day." What exactly have you tried, and what method did you use? People here are very friendly and helpful, but cannot help if you do not give full details.

The steps in simplified order are pretty simple.

The NC will boot from the uSD card if one is formatted correctly. Because of this, you don't have to be rooted or do anything special. however, it is recommened you do a backup before writing new ROM.

On your PC, insert a uSD card into a card reader.

1. Download and flash the files from that link above to your uSD card using an imaging program (Winimage32 for instance). This will create a bootable recovery section of the SD card.
2. Download the ROM of your choice and put the zipped file on the root of the uSD card.
3. Download the Gapps file for your build and put on the root of the uSD card.
4. Eject card from your PC and put in powered off Nook Color. Turn on NC and it should boot into recovery mode.
5. *Recommended* Back up current configuration.
6. Follow directions for wiping data and cache and then install the ROM and then the Gapps.
7. Turn off NC, pull uSD card and turn it back on.
8. Once settled, put SD card back in and reformat.
9. Enjoy.
