No prompt, unmounted and remounted no luck, salling media also wouldn't bring it up. Would it help if I just formatted my phone and went completely back to stock? Also, I see when people plug there phones in on screenshots a usb symbol appears in their notifications bar I most certainly do not get that lol
If you are not getting the notification (on the phone) it is probably something related to your phone that is the issue, not the computer.
You can try a factory reset, not sure if it will help, but it can't really hurt.
It looks like there is an issue with your connection somehow (duh, right?

). I am guessing that the problem is the USB port on your phone. Mine will have that issue sometimes but moving the cord around (well the end of it plugged into the phone specifically) until I see the icon in the notification bar. I do this with the phone setting on my desk (or some other convenient surface) and make sure the cord stays put once the phone is recognized. There are times this is really hard to pull off, but usually it just take a small wiggle.
If none of that works (the reset or the wiggle method

), I would call VM and talk to them about replacing the phone as there is more than likely a hardware issue at fault. This is definitely not normal behavior as I thought a Mac would work much like a Linux distro and would show the phone as drives and mount them automatically.
Also, thanks for the detailed info to start this post off (and the informed replies in the other post where you started with this issue). It makes it much easier to troubleshoot when all pertinent info is given, so we don't have to ask a ton of questions to get to the point.
