PLEASE READ: Reguarding the 2.1 Update for the Motorola Droid

HAHA okay if the Droid gets the update before the eris then it will only be by a day because all of the android phones on VZW are getting an update soon to be able to use the skype mobile and because 1.5 didnt get any update including that means that we will get it once the eris is updated to 2.1 but ill race yall to see who gets it

ttaylor that is a build an old on at that i already posted a build newer than that on here. the build is nothing like the ota.

I've been following the discussion on this thread and been waiting like the rest of you, but I forgot to even ask if my Moto Milestone from Europe or wherever its from, can be updated with this Verizon release of 2.1? I havent rooted it or anything.

Not True. Two different phones with different hardware so that means they have to customize it to fit each phone
Example
Eris is not getting live wallpapers but droid is
Droid isnt getting Sense UI but Eris is

They cant push the same update too two different phones not when they have to change so much plus MOtorola and HTC two different phone companies depends on them

there is no delay, it has been released as promised only to a select few. I have spoken with 3 people who confirmed it but would not give me the update themselves, if you look on Motorolas Facebook page there these people have said they have it and is working completly but without Flash functionality.

wont believe it till i see it.

What i was told was that Flash is going to be supported on Android 2.0 and up, but only when Adobe releases it. When it is ready it will be made available via Android Market.

any way to know when we get it? or could you upload it to me?

Some guy on the internet told me there was a delay:

John***** There is a delay on the 2.1 rollout for Droid

So until I see another guy post there isn't a delay I believe the first guy.

This whole deal is just laughable. So much misinformation and no official statements.

From what I've been able to glean, they did put the first thousand out; and then put an indeterminate hold for an as yet undisclosed reason on the full rollout. Although nothing is confirmed, it appears that the current problem is as much a deployment issue as anything.

As for Flash, the 2.1 update was never supposed to include the Flash Player. Adobe is planning to release that sometime this summer. The key point regarding 2.1 is that it's the minimum OS requirement for Flash 10.1 - so no point in Adobe releasing the player until there are enough phones out there that can run it.
