Please santa.....

Precisely because it's almost unusable asa phone I wouldn't want anyone else being disappointed..especially on christmas day!
 
No complaints from me...love the phone. Rooted, JIT enabled and stripped of all the unwanted apps :D

Wouldn't swap it for any other phone currently available...
 
Even stock I wouldn't trade mine. Haven't seen a phone out yet with our combination of processor speed, camera strength and screen size. Loving it :)

In call volume? Ring volume? Can't send long sms without changing network settings?
Vibrate is weak. I have had phone since march and I can probably remember the times I have heard it ringing in pocket! I have never been as disappointed with ANY product as I am with this phone.

Even SE sync is a disaster!

Are you positive you have a properly functioning phone? This forum is the most active on Android Forums for a reason...it's a great phone and most of us don't have those problems. YOu might just have a lemon.

all these things are fine on my phone, the ring and call volumes improve with the 2.1 update i think.
i've never had any issues with the length of my messages either.
i really have no issues with mine.

if your not happy thats your call, dont expect a desire to be any better tho lol

All the threads that came back for low volume are from before the 2.1 upgrade...

Anyways...not going to try too hard to see you on the phone..you're obviously not happy and that's too bad. All phones have their strengths and weaknesses and hopefully for you the Desire if a better match :)
 
The phone is perfect its the firmware thats not so dont go around saying its trash if you haven't even tried 2.1 a firmware thats almost on all X10s (unless you didn't take things into your own hands with AT&T then you wouldn't have 2.1) even then its not the phone thats trash its the stupid service provider whos has to make their customers wait for years to get it.
 
it does not matter what phone you have...there is always something better out there...if not the whole phone - a part of one (eg screen)

NO phone will satisfy EVERYBODY....fact!

I hated the x10 until the 2.1 now i enjoy it...yea there are still thinks that i dont like but i can live with them - in fact i am looking to buy another after xmas for my dad!

I have heard people going on about the low volume, though I have never once experienced this myself. I have not had any issues with it and I have been extremely happy with it since I got it.

Really don't see the point of posting on the X10 forum saying you hope people don't get one, am pretty sure most people in this section of androidforums, already has one...
 
The X10 is an incredibly good phone. Very well specced especially when we get the slightly bodged (but same as the desire AFAIK) version of multitouch. The only thing that lets it down is some of the SE software. Root it, put a custom rom on and remove SE apps and enable JIT. One of the best phones out in my opinion.

But, getting back to the moral side of it, what Country, Network Carrier and Firmware are you running

Cos i guarantee your issues are related to 1 of them, not the actual phone

Vodafone, uk,2.1. Its not my phone..se have said that volume us low...just wish they would fix it or say that they can't
 
well thats wierd as most in uk on 2.1 say call volume is fine, myself included - was out and about in busy shopping centre before xmas and able to chat on phone without problem, and also beside heavy traffic areas too
