i dont see whats unusable about it, mines works perfectly fine, i love it.
In call volume? Ring volume? Can't send long sms without changing network settings?
Vibrate is weak. I have had phone since march and I can probably remember the times I have heard it ringing in pocket! I have never been as disappointed with ANY product as I am with this phone.
Even SE sync is a disaster!

Are you positive you have a properly functioning phone? This forum is the most active on Android Forums for a reason...it's a great phone and most of us don't have those problems. YOu might just have a lemon.

I know that must suck but i have to say thats what you get from anything generic lol.I have generic global 2.1 and my call volume still sucks.

Have you tried any custom roms or maybe a different 2.1 firmware?
Then your device must be broken cause both mine are just fine STUPID.Hey stupid. The bootloader hasn't been cracked, No one's ROM changes the volume of the ear piece.

Vodafone, uk,2.1. Its not my phone..se have said that volume us low...just wish they would fix it or say that they can'tNow, in the spirit of Xmas that sounds much better
But, getting back to the moral side of it, what Country, Network Carrier and Firmware are you running
Cos i guarantee your issues are related to 1 of them, not the actual phone
