Hey guys,
Will try to keep this short. I bought this outright off Amazon and for the first week or so I had no complaints. My M8 had a few software updates and I was loving the phone. Last night though, another software update started, and in between this update, my M8 indicated to me that there was an issue with the update. I could not access my phone as I usually would be able to - there were repeatedly little boxes popping up that explained each and every app wasn't working (for lack of specifics), and whether or not I wanted to send an error report. When I clicked yes or no, nothing even happened. If I held down the power button though, I could see the option to turn off the phone in the background. So I played around with the screen until luckily enough I managed to get the phone to restart by pressing on that option behind those little windows popping up.
I figured I'd reset to factory settings. So I did. Today, I checked for an update again, and there was one. My phone is on Android version 5.0.1, software #: 4.16.401.13. However, I don't believe it is up to date (even though it says it is), because when I click the bottom right touch button, the two squares (task manager) that usually allow to close apps that are open, it looks like it did on my M7, not like it did on my M8 when I first started using it. M7: little windows overlapping. M8: all windows appear on the screen, in rows. Hopefully that makes sense.
So basically I'm a little suspicious of my phone and I can tell something weird is up because of the way the task manager looks, as if I'm operating on an older M7. Anyway, thank you for reading and I appreciate any feedback.
