Help podcast player

I am new to the android OS.
I have an att S2 running 2.3.6.

I regularly download podcasts and put them on my phone to listen to via Bluetooth player. These shows are generally 45 min. long Sometimes I'll close the player when Im not using it, before the podcast has ended completely. The next time I tap on that show to continue it, it starts over. Is there a setting or different player I can use to continue where I left off?

google listern was decent until it was dropped.

I use samsung kies cast now - not the best but it dowloads my podcasts and streams also, both on the device - also has speed funcitions.
