Help Polarized screen or no?

My husband and I both got HTC m8s recently and I found that in portrait with my prescription sunglasses, I can't see my screen at all. It's pitch black. However, my husband's phone doesn't do this. His screen is clear as day. They are the same exact phones, aside from mine being silver and his being gun metal. Why would my screen be polarized and his isn't? It makes no sense to me. Any insight would help.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS BideliaTrahern!

There is a discussion on this very topic in this forum somewhere.;)

The general consensus is that the screens were sourced to several mfgs,& as a result of differences in mfg techniques, some are better suited for outdoor use & with polarized sunglasses.

I'd attempt an exchange,if possible.
