Do not use trapster, was recommended to me, downloaded to my new droid and got nailed with a $120 ticket and 1 year of supervision. Prior that i had not been ticketed in almost 10 years. I have the latest and the greatest in radar detection, downloadable updates and do them religiously. Two days after i downloaded the application i was doing 75mph and stopped by state police just sitting on the side of the road, just waited until i got less than 50 feet (i say roughly 25 feet) and turned on the light on me. Ticketed me for doing 80 which was a lie. After the ticket i asked him what had he used to get my speed because i knew i was doing 75. He said lidar. I said, i have radar detector which up to that point he had not noticed it because my screen goes off then i asked him. You were not using one of those phone applications to get me, where you? He gave me a smirk smile from ear to ear. Although i know owning a radar is not illegal speeding is, but i also know that using phone applications for police business is just as illegal. Push come to shove he nailed me. Government is looking for money so they will use whatever that takes so look out. I know, i could have ask to see the radar gun but, i would have pi$$ed him off and surely he would have found something else. I learned from the past. Arguing does not pay, pay the ticket and get it over with. If not you might find your self with a broken light when he goes around inspecting your car. Seen that from a georgia trooper then try proving it in court. Your word (a speeder) against a law officer (to serve and protect, from whom?)
