I'm sooooooooo tired of the daily BS with this... So annoying it is...
Just think when 2.x actually comes, then we'll be hearing daily how they didn't include this or that, how 1.5 was better, how it's all screwed up, how Sprint sux, HTC sux, etc., blah blah blah... ppl should just stick by the house phone and get one of those 25' spiral cords, at least then you'd have nothing to bitch about, except once you trip over the cord you would say it was their fault too. Geeeeeeeeze!

Dude...every single post that mentions 2.1 sends you into a tirade, and that eventually gets old to everyone else in the forum. There are no laws or forum policies prohibiting any mention of 2.1 in this forum, and the day the admins invoke such a policy is the day that censorship kills this forum. You have no right to abuse posters who mention 2.1, and you have no right to jack threads like you do. You obviously have issues, dude...go get some help.

No, sorry but you are incorrect. Only lately I have gotten short in my tolerance of it as it has permeated this forum with meaningless and useless threads which repeat the same message over and over with different flavors.
For your information, actually the Admin's here HAVE clamped down on the 2.x stuff in the past and it is my sincere hope that it happen again, hopefully soon. There are just as many users here fed up with the 2.x subject, both in content and the discussion of it, as there are those posting their negativity.
Also, if you actually read my post you will see that I abused no particular poster, but the content itself. My mention of people is a general reflection that should constitute enough vagueness to be discreet. I have every right, just as those who post this ridiculous garbage, to comment on their threads, thank you very much. But, you would suffer me the same censorship you decry would foul and soil this forum... I need help?! Yeah, ok...
You obviously missed my apology but must not meet the criteria I referenced in my post as to being thin skinned, seems your's might be thinner than I could account for.
Lastly, it is not I who needs help, but ultimately those who are so fixated on the update to an operating system which controls the basic functions of their mobile phones. I jacked no thread as my post was in direct response to it.

I am perfectly happy with my phone, and I will probably be happier with 2.1, but I don't want it bad enough to root... at least not now.

I have to chime in.... What is getting old are the countless rants about 2.1. WTF is the purpose in continuously posting about something that evidently is going to happen when it happens. It is not considered censorship. I do not like the fact that I come here to read up on the Android world and every other freaking post has something to do with the 2.1 update. You obviously have not been around long enough for it to wear on you.
I have not been here very long and I am sick of hearing about the 2.1 update. I think there should be a filter that deletes anything related to 2.1.

As well as a "I'll drop the Hero and move onto to another phone"...there seems to be a lot of people on these boards making that "threat" lol...it'll get here when it gets here in my opinion

there has never been an official date for the release of android 2.1 on the htc hero device. There is a time frame, which has not passed. These dates you hear of are speculated, rumors. They are nothing close to official. Therefore, there is no date to be pushed back. Hopefully the text size adds emphasis and is easier to understand

I wouldn't go as far as the iPhone 4.0, cause if I wanted AT&T I'd already be with them. Now I'm with you if u said something like "It doesn't matter I'm getting the EVO". Yeah, I like that option.

FFS, I'm about to end up with my THIRD Hero, which might be forgivable if I didn't have to deal with soul-crushing lag on the rare occasion that I have enough battery to actually use the damn thing. The ability to customize your Hero is a pretty hollow feature when you have to reset the phone once a week -- and put yourself back to square one -- to get it to run properly.
It might be easy to conclude that this is user error on my part, but I've had two Heroes, with have both been rendered useless by completely different issues. First one behaved like it was possessed, where touching the screen in one spot would result in another part of the screen highlighting. Second one stays awake 100%, no matter what I do. It's freaking maddening.
Of course, I could root it, but then I'd lose the warranty coverage that I've been using on a weekly basis. Owning this phone is like an hourly kick square in the jewels.

If it doesn't come in May then I'm leaving Sprint - not because of 2.1 - but because I'm not going to do business with a company that lies and bullshits their customers.
