Poll: So who DOESN'T have 3g connection problems?

Hi,
Many people are claiming no data connections over 3g, across many networks over the world.

However we have no idea if this is a problem that EVERYone is suffering from, or if it is just a significant minority.

Therefore if your phone is fine, and you get excellent data/internet via 3g (not including H or 3g+ which seems to be ok) it would be really helpful if you could please post here stating:

- if you have perfect data connections over 3g (or not),
- your network,
- if your phone is rooted,
- if you had the problem but fixed it,
- any apps that made the problem worse or better,
- if you changed radio version.
- if you are running 2.2 or 2.1

This would be incredibly helpful for people like me who are having big problems with their phones. I don't want to get rid of my phone and go to the dark side!

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I have Baseband version 32.30.00.28u_4.05.00.11, and on Orange UK, and have had this problem on 2 phones. It was fine for a few days, and now I have no data over 3g, althought this is intermittent, regardless of signal strength.

Thanks.

I have no 3g problems, although I have had the situation where it wouldnt connect/activate. A simple restart fixed this, and I realised I had installed/uninstalled several apps prior to the issue. I often only get an Edge signal, but Hull is reliably poor for any type of signal including radio/tv (it may be because it is deceptively flat!!!), and this happens only in those locations.
Vodafone sim/unbranded/open/unlocked/unrooted/ota updated to latest firmware/'stock radio'/running 2.1(! isn't everyone?)

kboya, what baseband version do you have?
I heard Vodaphone updated theirs via OTA update to address the problem (may not have been for this problem at all).

I have not had an OTA update on orange.

(You gat Baseband/Radio version by Settings, About phone, Software information).

Thanks.

No Problems here: - BT - not rooted, - never had a problem - any apps that made the problem worse or better (N/A) - if you changed radio version.(N/A) - running 2.1

UK, O2, not rooted

I dont think I have ever even seen the desire with 3G at the top, maybe once for a few seconds.

I always have either H, G, or E (mostly H), I assumed that the HDSPA connection was replacing the 3G on this handset where ever possible, and as its supposedly its quicker than 3G so i havent really worried about it.

I had constant problems with my Galaxy; my 3G provider has no GSM network but falls back to a different provider (which is free for me) ... and I was almost always on that other provider. :(
- your network: "3" in Denmark
- if your phone is rooted: Yes, Galaxo v1632
- if you had the problem but fixed it: no, always poor reception
- any apps that made the problem worse or better: none
- if you changed radio version: not besides upgrading the phone to JC6
- if you are running 2.2 or 2.1: err, that's v1.5 and v1.6

With my new Desire, I'm surfing the 3G waves at full speed no matter where I am, it seems. :D
- your network: "3" in Denmark
- if your phone is rooted: Yes, using Nimbu's guide
- if you had the problem but fixed it: no, always good reception
- any apps that made the problem worse or better: none
- if you changed radio version: not besides slightly downgrading the phone in conjunction with rooting it
- if you are running 2.2 or 2.1: that's v2.1

I had the ota update, bt had no significant problemd before other than those stated above. Also, as I wrote, this is an unbranded or stock handset that happens to have a Voda sim. Nevertheless, for clarity: build 1.21.405.2;baseband 32.36.00.28u_4.06.00.02_2
Hope this helps

Not had any problems as far as I know!

In answer of the questions;
Data fine.
On Orange in UK.
Not rooted.
Not had an issue.
No apps caused or solved it.
Not updated from stock - 2.1 update 1, build 1.15.61.10 cl155070
As above on 2.1

Ok, so looks like maybe I am.
This forum in particular seems to not want to load. Tried in both 3g and g but get same problem(address bar gets about half green then stops. Less than half the page is accessible.)

Facebook sometimes works, other times not.
Viewing forum over WiFi works no probs (despite problem with WiFi on laptop!)

Apologies for the change in story!

I'm on o2. I am usually on H, but sometimes E and at home; G. I have seldom seen the 3G connection. usually where there is 3G, there is H too so this is what I get. I haven't noticed any connection issues when on 3G. Sometimes on G, I get page cannot be loaded errors.

On o2, sim free. Never rooted etc. just stock. And totally unlocked and unbranded.

Use to have issues daily. 3 or 4 times signal would be lost(data connection). Auto gsm prl thing calmed it down to maybe dropped network connection once every three or four weeks.
This latest software update, I've lost data connection once about a fortnight ago.

- Data connections ok,am on "H" most of the time.
- O2 Contract.
- NOT Rooted.

I'm glad to here then that there are people with no problems, even on orange!
I hope then that the problem is related to the radio version which seems to be updated on some networks and not others, and those on un-updated radios are just lucky. Good stuff.
Thanks a lot for all replies.

if anyone else posts, please post your Baseband version as well as that is the radio version.
Thanks :)
