Maybe try a custom rom and kernal.

I use Checkrom Revolution v2 with SiyahKernel v2.1, with moderate usage I get about 2 days out of it. Heavy use I get about 6 hours screen on.

I usually charge my phone when going to sleep, but last night there was still 35% left so I didn't bother. When I woke up this morning after 8 hours, the battery is at 34%. :D

Checking in detail, the data line was off and because its the weekend, all background sync data for AP Mobile, Weather Widget, Email is manual. So for those 8 hours, there were no wakelogs, just pure deep sleep for the phone. And if you are thinking the phone is off, it isn't. The signal line was available throughout the period.

My conclusion, the battery and the power consumption is great. Its just we are using this like a proper computer and that's why it takes up so much juice. Like any computer, if you want it to last, we need to practice some power management. Using 3G when necessary, lengthen sync time, only manually sync and download etc.

Cheers

First, turn off Auto-Sync in the Settings>Accounts & Sync menu.

My advice would be to root the phone.
Then download Titanium Backup and FREEZE both of the Wi-Fi Sharing processes.
Also, in Titanium Backup, backup and then Un-Install AP News and Accu Weather (if you have those factory installed.)

Also, avoid data heavy widgets.

Keeping the screen brightness to 1/3 and Auto is about right in most situations.

If I don't use my phone all day, the power level barely drops. If I am playing games, checking facebook, browsing the web, texting and calling all day, I only get about 6-8 hours out of it before it's asking to be fed.
