Help poor battery life

Hi,

Looking for some suggestions... a few months ago, I rooted my Galaxy T989 and installed CM 10.1 on it. About that time, I started noticing my battery life wasn't as good as it used to be. I was making it work by charging my phone while at the office (using a blackberry cable, universal, no?). While on holidays (ie, not while I was charging using the Blackberry cable), my phone stopped connecting to the OEM charging cable unless I wiggled it to just the right angle and carefully left it in that position. I installed BBS and found that vbus_present was preventing my phone from sleeping even when unplugged. I found some forums that mentioned this sort of behaviour and tried cleaning the USB port out with a toothpick as well as a toothbrush and some compressed air. None of the cleaning techniques solved the problem 100%, but at one point it did seem to help getting the vbus_present wakelock to release my phone into deep sleep. Now my phone connects to the charge cable a little better, but charges really slowly (about 3 hours for a full charge) and discharges really quickly. Today, my phone has been on about 6 hours (screen on for about 16 minutes) and is down to 21% battery left. I noticed a while ago the battery would drop from 100% to 98% immediately upon being unplugged, but that didn't bother me too much. Today, when I unplugged it (then rebooted it) it had dropped to 85%. I don't know if all these problems are related or not, but I'm starting to think they are. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve my battery life?

Oh, and another thing... When I first installed BBS I was able to see various options for the current battery cycle, but now I'm getting an error when I open BBS that says "Fallback to since boot" and I don't get the option for "Unplugged", only "boot" shows up.

Sorry if this doesn't seem to make sense... I'm trying to include all the things I think are relevant, but I'm not positive it all is.
