Poor data coverage.

So I used to live in Kansas, and I was getting 4g speeds. Now I'm in Mississippi, and I can barely get 2g and often I find that I'm in a dead zone.
Just wondering if anyone else was having this issue, maybe its the Nodded OTA JB rom?
I tried updating the prl and all that, still horrible data coverage.
The ##25327# code doesn't work...

Coverage and the rom aren't related if you don't have coverage, there isn't much you can do.

lol I figured that, I was just hoping. I just bought this phone 4 months ago...
Man I really don't want to go to one of the over charging major carriers :'(
Thanks for the input.

Hey, you guys wanna hear a good one? I had actually thought about switching over to T-Mobile awhile back. I checked their coverage map a few weeks ago and get this....... they only have 2G coverage in my area. Crazy huh?

I just did a speed test with my SV using 3G. It wasn't that bad considering I live in the desert. LOL

I threw one in there with WiFi just for the heck of it. Pretty cool when I'm only supposed to be getting 10 down. I've gotten speeds anywhere from 10 to 16 before over my WiFi. Bright House has their Lightning which is 60+ down but man it's expensive!!

My coverage is good but 3g is horribly slow

Wow. Looks like I'm getting good 3G speeds at the house compared to yours. Considering how my signal goes in and out, that's very surprising.

Yeah its a shame, I think my area has too many Sprint customers because late at might I'm getting 2mb down.

Hopefully this will still work with JB. I only tried it with ICS. ;)

If you read down a bit, you'll see a post I made with the drivers for Win7 64. It's an installer and easy to use. I used it instead of manually installing the drivers because it was so much easier. Have to be running Win7 64 bit though to use them. If not you'll need to manually install them.

Irishobo is the one who got the ball rolling with prl changing on this phone. If you decide to give it a try then you may want to get in touch with him or post in his thread. He may have already tried the process with JB and be able to let you know if it will work or not with JB. :D

Hmm, I'll have to check around and see what I can come up with. I'll let you know if I find anything.

You always have the option of flashing back to ICS, changing the prl and then flashing a backup of a JB ROM.

The prl should stick. :D

Yeah I could try that but that's last resort

From the looks of things right now, that may be the only resort bro. Hey, at least you'll be able to restore your phone exactly the way you had it. The only difference would be the new prl. :D

Only drawback is that it's gonna take about 20 + minutes to do.

AS a matter of fact, I've considered doing it myself. I had tried a few prls back when I was on ICS but the fact of the matter is that the HTC One SV just has a crappy antenna. Mine drops calls where I live while my Marquee has almost full signal. That's the only thing that really pisses me off about this phone. Thankfully I have the option to use GrooveIP over my wifi when I home if needed. :D

Another plus is that I work in a city that has pretty darn good signal strength. ;)

I've got a buddy of mine who said he's gonna let me have his Sprint S3 when he upgrades to the S4 in Sept. It'll be interesting to see what kind of signal strength it gets here at the house. I have a feeling it's gonna get just as good a reception as my Marquee. :D

Your Marquee was running on a different radio frequency Wimax I believe where the Htc One Sv is running on a cdma/lte frequency

They are also working on towers pretty much everywhere to get rid of Nextel and Wimax and use Lte and Hspa

99.99 % sure the Marquee is CDMA. My Prevail is too. You're right about them working on towers everywhere though. They just updated the one in my area about a yr and a 1/2 ago. Before then I had the same problem with both my Prevail and Marquee. They updated the tower and my signal went from barely anything to great.

I've done a little reading up on it and most of the info points to the antenna HTC is using. I've read that several of their phones have this issue.

Yup. Thought that's what I remember reading.

Sure is gonna be nice once Sprint/Boost gets LTE out here. I've heard it's fast. My 3g is decent at times but nowhere near what kind of speeds the guys are getting with the LTE. I've seen some of the speeds guys have posted and they are blazing fast for a phone. :D
