Help Poor video performance

I am running The Chillhacker's April 19 firmware. I'm finding that the video performance in any video-based application to be pretty awful. I'm guessing that the internal processor simply isn't fast enough to handle high-quality video. Am I correct? If not, what can be done to improve it?

Incorrect. I run 1080 videos all the time.
Change ROMS.

Which ROM version are you using, Gary?

As gary says, the processor (and GPU) are fine. It'll be a software issue. (Hi Gary!)

I'm running Tim's 5a from the sdcard vide plays fine. Over wifi share there's constant pausing. Archos 101 has no trouble at all over wifi. Either a buffer issue or crap wifi on the ft3.

I find it plays .flv video files appallingly & having converted all my .flv files to mp4 or avi depending on the file size i have had no problems.
