Help Poor wifi reception

Got my S2 from AT&T and the wifi reception is very poor.. is this a current issue and if so is there a fix or one in the works at least?

I havent encountered any problems so far. Have you checked your router or internet connection. Try to keep your hands off the bottom of the phone, that is where the wifi receives its connection. I noticed I had a better signal when I took my hand away from the bottom of the phone.

It's not the router. I have tried it on two and they are top of the line routers.

I still have my iphone 4 and it has much better reception still. I can literally move my S2 about 20 feet or less from the router and it will lose a bar of reception.

Have you tried a different channel on your router? Also what sort of encryption are you using?

Do you have a case ? i noticed poor reception too until i got a case and it improved.
So, as glorifiedsins mentioned, it must have something to do with hands directly touching the phone.

i have just got the s2 from vodafone today and noticed that the wifi reception is terrible
my htc hero picks up my own router and next doors and somebody's down the street yet the s2 will only show 2 bars when picking up my on router and nothing else, i am on 2.3.3 firmware will upgrading help
