Help POP3 E-Mail Incoming Mail Issue

I tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.

The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.

The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.

Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

Anyone else come across this issue?

Just downloaded K9 mail and all works fine !

Having the same issues. Can send emails but can't receive emails (POP3 account).

The issue appears to be that the Droid X is set to connect to the server using TLS (Transport Layer Security) which most IP/hosting servers mail systems are not setup to handle.

Have contacted Motorola, Verizon. Motorola tells me that there is no place to turn TLS connection off in the phone system software (Android).

Could upgrade my mail system software but not the intent. Hope they fix this issue on 2.2

p.s. Yes, K9 Mail works just fine but would like to get the phone email client to work!
