POP3 E-mails keep coming

I setup one of my pop3 accounts to read from my phone...but very sporadically it marks all the messages I've already read or deleted as new. I go...open them all...set them to delete from server when I delete them...then 5 minutes later it appears again.

This is only happening on my POP3 account...Gmail/Exchange isn't having this problem.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Same problem here with my earthlink account. It's real annoying.

I posted about this the other day, basically was told that Android doeesn't handle pop email very well and it's a known issue....it is annoying.

I have found that mine keep coming back if I delete them right away. If I wait a few hours before I delete an email, the Droid wont download it again.

It probably uses a really basic algorithm to determine if it's downloaded a message or not. Maybe something along the lines of if(message_time<time_now-30 && !On_handset){download message;}.
