Help POP3 email app won't show .ICS attachment

Newbie
Hi,

I'm using a Galaxy Nexus 4.3. When I receive email on my POP3 email client application with an Outlook invitation (an .ICS file), I won't even see the attachment. The email is blank. Is there a way I can see and accept these invitations?

it's becoming a real problem because the management at my company wants me to switch to iPhone because those phone can read the Outlook invitations

thanks

Which email client are you using? The stock android app?

I know there are a number of "plug in" apps that will allow the gmail app to handle .ics invitations. I tested this one out today. It worked on my Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2 via the gmail app. Can't confirm if it works for 3rd party apps but I would think so.

Basically, its just an app that can open ics files and when you click on an attachment it asks you to use it just once or always. Then it pops up a new calendar entry for the event. Seems good to me.

I don't know if it works on 4.3 as it only says it works on 4.2.2 so far, or if it works with whatever email app you use.

I can also confirm this works with the stock android email client. If an ics attachment is received you can click on it and choose to open with this app - which really just creates a new calendar appointment.
