I have been told by a wonderful person at Verizon that if you use RR email on the Droid 3 and are having problems, set up a ghost Gmail account and the droid will automatically transfer your RR email to your phone through that. You do NOT have to change email providers....it's just a ghost account/an avenue.
Good luck. Phone looks SWEET!!!

The info in this thread is very valuable - Thanks to EPH for supplying the fix to my outgoing server issues. After following EPH's instructions as mentioned below my outgoing mail is now working.....

per EPH...
In the Outgoing Server Settings, first you have to select "login required". Then, where it asks for "username", you actually have to put in your full email address. Then add your password. Security type "none", and server port 25.

I'm in New Zealand but have a similar problem here. I can set up the email ok but when I go from wifi to 3g then back to wifi email stops receiving or sending. The carrier here can't help, but I downloaded the (free) k9 email client from the android market, and with all the same settings email now works perfectly whether I'm on a wifi network or our 3g network. Might be worth a try for anyone who's having problems still.

I can not get my two emails to set up. I have two accounts with road runner. Is there something I should know. Everytime I attempt to set up the email the phone gives me a message "setup could not finish" "unable to open connection to server". Any help would be great. Thanks

In your account settings for your RR pop3 account go to outbound server and advanced. Make sure Secure Connection is deselected and that you are on port 25. That should work as it fixed mine..

I was having the same problems of not being able to set up another email account on Incredible 2. Try changing your auto power saving settings. Worked like a charm for me:D
