Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

I've asked this question in another thread, but haven't gotten an answer.

I followed instructions to use BH_MAN 1.6(noTouchWiz) on my Behold II.
It appears that I have got it working since the phone shows that its in 1.6 now.
Only used BH_MAN_PDA_WarHeads.tar.md5, Behold2_partition.ops in Odin.

My concern is the BOOTLOADER and PHONE. I didn't flash those because the instructions didn't say to, but I've seen messages saying:

ONLY FLASH BOOT / PHONE Once.... Once Flashed You Only Have to Flash the PDA File if doing a Restore, Never flash the Phone & Boot file more than Once!!!!!!

I originally came from a stock 1.5 factory phone. (if this helps clear anything up)

So should I flash OPS and PDA again, along with BOOT and PHONE?

I don't want to run into problems regarding this issue in the future, so if someone could answer I would greatly appreciate it.

Why does it have 4 room in this thread ? Could someone explain , first one is WARHEAD from top to bottom . Which one I should choose , and why does it have the APK file underneath each RoM ?

For example : advanced launcher For WarHeads > TwLauncher.apk under WARHEAD ROOM . What do we need to do this this file , why and How ?

BH_Man names the roms based on candy, Warheads is his latest BH2 rom that fixes some of the problems that Dots has. The top rom is going to be the most current that has that has fixed any previous problems. As for the apk, it is for an alternate launcher, it is not necessary to use the Rom
 
If any of you newer people just got this phone (as in within the last 15 days), do yourself a favor and return the phone. You're shooting yourself in the foot by sticking with this phone. Get the MyTouch Slide or wait for whatever ends up being Project Emerald (HTC/Android/Sidekick thing).

You'll thank me later. :)
 
Should I install Stock 1.6 android or WARHEAD . I heard stock is user friendly for newbi , and warhead is find but there is sleep problem .

I don't know what to choose, which one do you think , I just need a regular 1.6 with vibration , that is all . I don't need other stuff as long as I have wifi and basic stuff to work on my BH2 . I'm cool with that . Thanks

I think you answered your own question. Another thought is start with stock and if you want more put a different rom on.

Probably stock 1.6 warheads wifi dies when it sleeps sometimes

As it is true that take5 is the latest but not the best for me. I still cant figure out why the same model phone acts differently on each roms. Some people have problems while i do not. For me twix is the best. warheads gives me a lot of fc. I have been using take5 for a few days now and have poor battery life. I cant go a day and it needs to be charged. I run twix and can go 2 days stong on a single charge. Guess some things are ambiguous.
 
On Warheads, I head FC/Waits quite often. On Take5 I've had 1 in the past week or two.

My battery life has doubled (nearly tripled) by going to Take5 vs Warheads.


Galaxy, of course, still has the best battery life, but the lack of vibration and lack of B2 Camera app is a deal buster for me at this point.

I been running this ROM for a while and I am loving it. Home++ looks awesome and I dont want to change it. At first, I wasnt able to get the apps drawer to stop loading at first but when I Factory Reset and did the #su , exit, exit, the apps drawer stop loading everything time I went in there. This lasted for a 1-2 weeks, and then one morning after charging my phone, I notice the apps drawer loading issue came back. Anyone have any ideas what happen there?
 
Home++ is wonderful. It has a lot of great features, and I hope they update it often.


That being said, it's quite buggy, and BH_Man removed it from future updates (such as Take5).


Thankfully, I never had the refreshing issue personally. Unfortunately, I had the FC/Wait issue often :-P


If/when Home++ gets a few more updates, though, I fully plan on going back and using it.
 
i removed TwMms.apk, and downloaded stock mms.apk from earlier versions of no twiz i renamed it to TwMms.apk and installed it then i wipe the phone and still i get messaging errors and cant send sms only receive what am i doing wrong?
 
The FC's after a reboot will always be there. As far as not being able to send messages is because your message center is probably empty.
 
Is there a way to get a cursor positioning aide like the one on the cliq? My girlfriend has that phone and i love that feature!
