Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

Anyone else getting a crash while installing apps after a download? I'm trying to update google maps, and it downloads then crashes...

Do a Factory Reset... If that doesn't help.. Try this!

adb shell
cd /system/app
rm -r Maps.apk
exit

Do a Factory Reset, then go to market & download Maps again..

Thanks again to BH-Man for all his efforts. I am finally starting to enjoy my Behold II. I do have a question though, why the Behold II? I bought mine because the salesman at the t-mobile store told me it had 1.6 and it was the latest one at the time. So, my question is, do you all see more in this phone than I am aware of that it deserves all this time and effort? What makes it so special? When BH_MAN recently bricked his phone, that could have been an opportune time to switch to a different phone, yet, thankfully, he stayed on to help us out. Am I not seeing the "diamond in the ruff" here?

Which Launcher does DOTS have? Does it work with AnyCut/BetterCut?

Am I asking in the wrong forum? Is the answer in OP or somewhere else and I missed it? Did I say something wrong?

If it's still Advanced Launcher in DOTS then is there a way to push the stock launcher in or some other way to overcome this interaction between BetterCut and Advanced Launcher?

First error in DOTS, about an hour out from having used my phone (its just sitting next to me on the desk) it automatically booted.

ok, i have a question bout the DOTS debug/install. I know the usual procedure for doing an ODIN is:
1. full charge
2. perform ODIN
3. allow phone to die
4. recharge to full while the phone is OFF

so where does the install of DOTS come in? It is my understanding that this is the procedure that should be used to install twix in the first place. little help would be appreciated

DOTS is installed in step 2.

Yes it is the same procedure you are simply replacing one with the other it is not really an update...it is an updated rom hence the new name DOTS

TuneWiki.apk anyone? Am I the only one that likes this media player and radio? I like how easy it is to listen to thousands of stations. Could anyone give me a link for the TuneWiki.apk? Thanks much appreciated!

Fully charged phone & I installed DOTS yesterday at about 8PM MST. Then followed instructions for draining battery. Maximized LCD brightness, left on GPS, WiFi, Browser with 5 windows open, and all of the apps I could open to drain the battery fast so I could recharge it again. Guess what? It is now 12:30 MST & I am still at about 30%. The phone also sleeps correctly so I have awakened it to play on the internet & also play some games so I think this DOTS rom has fixed the battery & sleeping problems.

Before this, I flashed every new rom since R7 & I couldn't get more than 12 hours without needing a charge. Thank you BH_MAN. I'm glad I stuck with this phone. As I mentioned in an earlier page, I have had Windows Mobile phones & have always used custom roms on them but I am really enjoying Android; especially now.

I am sure that having this new rom automatically reformat the SD card has helped get rid of any items hanging around which might have caused a lot of problems in other roms.

I'm sure there will be some minor tweaks for this but we now have a pretty stable rom. There are also a lot of apps on the Market to substitute things you might need. Believe me, I have messed around with a lot of phones & the potential for this one is limitless. IT IS NOW ON TO 2.1 FOR THE ULTIMATE PHONE EXPERIENCE.

The T-Mobile salesperson misled you. the BHII has 1.5 NOT 1.6. That's why there's so much effort to have 1.6 installed on the BHII.

What is the difference between BH_MAN_DOTS.zip and BH_MAN_16_No_Twix.zip?

I've been running R7 of the Galaxy 1.6 and am considering moving to this one, but not sure which files I should download. Suggestions?

Thanks!

IDK if this was covered in a earlier post but does this rom require a factory reset like the others to stop force closes? Someone else has done this ROM and are getting force closes on VM and dialer constantly.

Please read the last few pages of this thread and read the change logs in the OPs of the associated roms for the answers to that.
