Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

Hi everyone and special thanks to BH_Man and all of you. This is my first time installing a Custom ROM, so I've been digging through the forums trying to figure things out. The only question I have right now is how long does the process take. ODIN's timer just hit the 30 min mark and I want to make sure I didn't miss pressing something to start the download to the phone.

Thanks again:confused:

What do you see in the Message Area? (Lower left corner of the screen).

It almost sounds like your phone is not in Download Mode. Be sure to Press Volume Down - OK - End Call until you see the screen say [Download Mode] at the top left corner. It usually takes 6 seconds for this to happen.

I didn't see anything in the lower left corner. I'll start over and follow the steps behold_this suggested. Crossing fingers now.

just make sure you boot into download mode.

hold down the down volume button+ok+end until you see download mode. then press
start in odin. just to clarify

Thanks. I've done exactly that. But I'm unclear on options that need to be checked and if I do the files one at a time or all together. I followed the instructions in "I have no clue what I'm doing" (pretty much describes me at this time:-) and incorporated the additional instructions from BH_Man. Correct?

wow BH_MAN this home launcher is amazing. At first I didn't like it, but once I figured out all of its features it turned out to be really cool!

you really can flash all at once. only go one at a time if odin freezes. always load the ops file with every flash. start with bootloader (boot) then flash phone, then pda if all together won't work. don't not change ANY options!

BH_MAN or anyone else that knows, is the launcher the new helix launcher or Launcher2 or something completely different?

When I odin'd the Boot, it was stuck on Behold II screen. I pulled the battery after odin said pass. Went on to the Phone, did the same. Then did the PDA and it rebooted fully. Seems to be working correctly.

When I'm setting up the Launcher and I type in SU in Terminal app, I get SU not found. I've rebooted and it still didn't help. Any suggestions?

You can try K-9 Mail from the Market it is free and works amazing for email!

I bought Touchdown (which blows k-9 away IMO), but I need to access two exchange servers via activesync and the native Exchange support seemed to be more stable and a better interface than k-9 - again IMO.

Thanks for the suggestion though :)

so far this build runs roughly with 102mb free at all time, then again the launcher I'm using has the ability to to end Process, I don't want to say what launcher it is until I release it & see what the Feedback is regarding it :D...

Until then,
~BH_MAN

i'm getting around 60-70 available memory all the time :(

it wont let me put two different items in the images to download section i get the first one in there and then when i put the second one in it freezes when it checks md5 file name then i tried to just do one at a time but it wont finish

I have done the above and rebooted the phone, but the application menu still refreshes every time I launch it, any idea?

Thanks!

Same here. Not a deciding factor for me, but really annoying, and I imagine it eats some battery too. If there's a fix for it, it would be great. This is an amazing build, lightning fast, and I can't wait to get my first full day of use from it!

Update: The App Menu problem fixed itself a couple of hours after I changed the setting.
