K-9 doesn't support newer exchange servers it appears, which is what my company uses, but the Samsung email app did... could someone please outline how to properly get the Samsung email app onto Warheads (assuming its possible)?
Thanks.
Edit: Should I post this in another thread?
I just checked out Moxier and Touchdown and neither of them support a feature that was in the Samsung email app... the ability to only have it check email during certain periods (I don't want it checking my work email when I'm at work because I check it on my work PC). So if anyone can help me get the Samsung email app back, it would be greatly appreciated.
Mail.apkadb push (file) /system/app

Mail.apk
Thank you for posting this, and I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I was hoping for the Samsung email app that came with the Behold II because it allows me to tell it only to poll for exchange email during certain hours of the day. Will it not work with Warheads? Sorry to be such trouble.
Can someone post Swype.apk,i would be grateful.Just flashed to R9 (which is way better than warheads) and its not included.Thanx in advance.
to do whathey im new to this and was wondering if someone could give me a step by step guide on how to do this, i really dont wanna brick my phone, thanks
The only you need to do is read the first post , and read the topic: how to flash by using ODIN
I'm curious how everyone is getting their battery to last 16hours?! Mines lasted for about 12....... and it died at "20%"
|hey im new to this and was wondering if someone could give me a step by step guide on how to do this, i really dont wanna brick my phone, thanks
Before flashing, go to phone/settings/application/development & make sure usb is set for debugging mode.
If you are flashing DOTS:
Open Up ODIN Multi Downloader & CHECK DEBUG OPTION & PDA Format (FOR DOTS ONLY)
Click the OPS button and choose Behold2_partition.ops
Click the BOOT button and choose the BOOT md5 file, You will get error message" invalid image...," but ignore it. Do the same for the Phone & PDA files.
Turn off Phone.
Plug phone into USB.
Put phone in download mode (HOLD DOWN Vol Down + OK + END Button UNTIL DOWNLOADING DISPLAYS)
Wait till detected and press START.
SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO FLASH EACH FILE SEPARATELY. OPS/BOOT THEN OPS/PHONE THEN OPS/PDA
IF DOING SEPARATELY, WAIT UNTIL ODIN SAYS PASSED. SCREEN WILL STILL BE STUCK ON BEHOLD SCREEN. JUST REMOVE BATTERY, WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES & FLASH NEXT ITEM. SAME THING WILL HAPPEN WITH SECOND ITEM. WHEN FLASHING PDA, IT WILL REBOOT PROPERLY.
If you are flashing WARHEADS:
Open Up ODIN Multi Downloader
Click the OPS button and choose Behold2_partition.ops
Click the PDA button and choose the PDA md5 file, You will get error message" invalid image...," but ignore it.
Turn off Phone.
Plug phone into USB.
Put phone in download mode (HOLD DOWN Vol Down + OK + END Button UNTIL DOWNLOADING DISPLAYS)
Wait till detected and press START.
THEN FOLLOW DIRECTIONS STATED ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD.
ENJOY THE ROMS.

Make sure your battery is fully charged before flashing rom and drain & cycle your battery after you installed the ROM. I'm getting around 19-25 hrs depending how much i use my phone.
Make sure your phone sleep properly
TO THOSE OF YOU HAVING BATTERY PROBLEMS.
I am sooo happy to say that I may have found a solution to the problem. Last night I was searching for an explanation as to why some people were having tremendous battery life while others were having sub par battery life. I looked around the forum and could not find any detailed instructions on how to "possibly" fix this. I think I may have found the solution.
First of all, for the past 2 weeks since DL the original bh_man 1.6 no twiz I have averaged 12 hours of batt life with moderate usage and dim settings and running task killer constantly killing apps. I was satisfied with the rom but wanted more battery life.
So, with help from aequitas3 I decided to RE-FLASH the bh_man rom. Only this time I drained the battery, and once it died I continued to press the on button which began the opening animation several times and then died. I did this until it no longer began the behold animation completely drained. I then re-charged WHILE OFF until the battery said it was full. Once full I removed the battery for a few minutes before turning the phone into "dl mode". I plugged into usb and "re-flashed" the Bh_Man 1.6 no twiz through ODIN. Once complete, I turned the phone off again and removed the battery once more for a few minutes and then turned the phone on. Lo and behold (no pun intended =) the battery only read 65%!! After it just said it was 100%?? I immediately turned the phone OFF and charged the remainder until it read FULL.
I unplugged the charger and turned the phone on.
I am happy to say that as of right now I have 9 hours of up time so far with 72% battery life remaining!!! Normally I would have about 30-25% battery left so this is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT! I do not know the technical reasons for all of this, all I know is that it worked and I sincerely hope that this will help others that have had battery issues. Just to clarify, I have run brightness on 11% and since reflashing and removing the battery my phone finally sleeps properly EVERY SINGLE TIME. The whole day my phone slept properly which is a first. I also kill all tasks including task killer before allowing the phone to time out and sleep. I would say the phone can easily last 24 hours now!
Thank you Bh_man for this amazing rom! I only use the original 1.6 no twiz, not the new one that has been recently removed. Also thank you aquateaus3 and RudoFF for all the help you guys have provided. I love sharing this great information with all my android friends = )
Hope it works for you guys!
p.s. I decided to try this route after realizing I did not have my bh2 fully charged during the first flash. After seeing the shift from 100% to 65% after re-flashing it was more evident that the calibration was thrown off. I also believe the battery removal before ODIN may have helped with the the phone's sleeping habits. I have not had one failed sleep test yet (eg. pressing menu, call, or d pad does not open lock screen). Also remember to back up your files before reflashing lol.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but i also get anywhere between 8 to 12 hours depending on use. Here's what i have installed and running.

100% brightness all the time (it's bright in Arizona)
GPS, Data Sync always ON
Volume 100%
Occasional Bluetooth for Ford Sync music listening
Apps:
Foursquares
Swype
Beautiful Widgets
Power Control
Handcents
Usage: (per charge)
about 60-100 minutes of phone calls
check-in Foursquares (3-5 times a day)
Check Facebook (5-10 times a day)
Skyfire (30-45 minutes)
about 20-30 text messages
Navigation (about 10-20) minutes
8am - 11am drops from 100% to 60%
11am - 3pm drops to 20%
plugged in car charger till about 6pm
by 11pm, battery is about dead again.
i get anywhere from 16-20 hours of moderately heavy use...
i do agree with you using the brightness at 100 in arizona tho, it is bright lol.
By the way, I've lost count on how many times I've properly calibrated the battery meter.Lucky, but I think I know where my problem is. My phone has insomnia. It might go to "sleep" once in a while, but next time I check(pressing MENU button) the phone wakes up. Under Battery Usage, Android system stays above 95%. So, re formatted the SD Card along with EXT2 partition, re ODIN Warhead, pushed Galaxy 1.6 R8 Contacts.apk re installed apps and now OFF waiting to be "Fully Charged" in anticipation of R10 (Currently have R9). I might try and get a replacement battery. Buddy works at a TMO store across the street.By the way, I've lost count on how many times I've properly calibrated the battery meter.
Just woke up, will get to uploading Soon.
Regarding the Launcher on XDA, it wont work.
Are you calling R10 a "big" release are are there only minor changes?
