Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

This makes me so sad :(

I've changed USB ports, I've always run Odin as administrator :(

EDIT: OMG something is happening :O
I interrupted it this time by changing USB ports and it did something immediately yay .. and I think it finished before I even finished typing this.. yay.. Its starting like normal.
Thank You very, very much.
I appreciate your support.

I thought I was safe. I never used ADB before, or modified my phone in any hardcore way. ^^ I luckily found a slow wifi signal near my window and am waiting slowly for odin to finish downloading ^^.

EDIT: My Odin is stuck :( :( :( :(

After about 20 minutes nothing was happening so I stopped it..

When I restart my phone it now takes me to a black screen with exclamation mark. Says.
USB Connection established.
Press downloader start button..

I press the thing to go to download mode.

Its still at: <1> setup connection...

whyyyy

:( :( :( :( :(

Really sad, what am I to do?
I'm not with T-Mobile so how can I send to Samsung?

:( :( :( :(

might be wrong.. but how are you starting it? like normal? or you you booting it into download mode via

down volume + center button + power?

O the moment I turned it on, it went straight to that screen.
Had to turn it off to get into the blue download mode.

It's good now.

Changing USB port after pressing start did the trick ;)

When that Screen Pops up, there is no need to Power off then Power back on to Boot loader..

That screen is there to let you know there is no system on the phone, Connecting a usb & hitting start on the odin flasher is all that was needed..

I do want to touch on one issue though!
There is no need to use anything but the Behold.ops file & the Pda file..

When selecting the Boot & Phone you are Flashing the AMSS & the bootloader.

There is no need for this, and this is how I bricked my second phone, during the AMSS flashing ( Which gone bad ) killed the Phone.

Only Flash the BOOTLOADER ( BOOT File ) & the PHONE ( AMSS = RADIO ). if there is an Official update for it!

The .ops & PDA File Contains the only thing you need for a Clean Restore!

After installing the new ROM the applications available in the market changed. Probably due to Galaxy Rom on Behold 2. So is the market reading the phone as a Galaxy and that is why the same applications are not available? Would it make that big of a difference what applications are available from one ROM to the next, I know that certain apps are created for certain phones but now stuff like the better terminal emulator lite is not showing up. What file would need to be modified to change the market apps availability or should I just stick with what is available now. Thanks again.

Hi. I'm using GDE and whenver I press the home button, it doesn't save my preference for GDE as my home screen. Even when I click Use by default for this action. I'll press home and it works fine, but the moment I switch to certain applications applications (either its that or my 5th try) and press home, it asks me again.

I went to settings to check defaults, but it shows no signs of me setting any defaults.

When i try step 1 it says that access not permitted or something like that =(

And when i type the second line after adb shell it says its not found. wtfff

Another problem I've encountered is on the camera, when I click on the "Send to" button on the camera software the button doesn't click. Nothing happens when I click on it. Instead of opening the SMS software, it does nothing.

Hey. My ADB no longer works after i installed BH2 stock. I tried disabling, then enabling USB debug, but it doesn't seem to help.

please advice. I'm trying to go to recovery mode to do the battery fix tip. but the phone shows a triangle with exclamation

On this screen hit the menu button and it should go through recovery and you should be good to go.

thanks. but that will do a master reset right? i just want to run the commands for the battery tip. the tip said to boot in recovery then run adb. can i just go to adb without doing the recovery (master reset)?

@bangsters: do not go to recovery mode.
* Just change usb connecting to samsung studio, turn on usb debug. Then let your phone sleep ( not turn off)
* go to cmd in your computer, and type
1. adb devices ( just make sure your device is listed in there)
2. adb shell
3. mount(space)-(space)a
4. the long command line ( i don't remember it ^^)
5. reboot

ah so what I eventually did last night was correct.

battery performs better now. although i'm not sure if it's because of that or because i did a master reset and removed gde. isn't gde using more power and causing the phone to slow down, as compared to using the default advancelauncher that BH_Man bundled with his rom?

PS for the battery do this:

1) delete battery statistics.
2) Full charge with the charger - NOT USB cable.
3) If possible leave it to overcharge (leave on charge even when at 100%) for an hour.
4) Let the phone drain in normal usage all the way untill it shuts off by itself.

Kam187, how do you delete the statistics?

p/s: your phone need to be rooted or using BH_MAN's rom before you do this

Sorry I must have misunderstood you. I thought you were trying to go into recovery. Glad you got it worked out.

I found that by editing the default.ro file at the root level I now have USB debug enabled after a reboot.

I used root explorer from the market to make the change.

Assuming you used the instructions on this thread http://androidforums.com/samsung-be...-apps-working-persistent-root.html#post357938
you wanna type su after step 2

Other than that I got it to go. Now I'll test it out.

i think i found a bug... vibrate doesnt work for txt msging notification.. or maybe i missed a setting some where? i also didnt notice for calls... only time i noticed it was when im in the settings screen

I ran into the same problem even when using handcent, what I ended up doing was downloading SMSMorse from the market and set it to name, its a little work around and has a longer vibrate so if you have someone with a long name you text frequently it might not be practical but it works

BH_MAN,

Thanks for all that you have done. I think my phone is awesome now. I did install the black theme galaxy before wiping the phone clean again and installing the no twiz version. Do you know where you found the analog clock? I really liked that clock. Also, the icons snap to rows and columns now. Is that a default behavior in android or a feature of advance launcher. Having to try to align icons was one of the things I did not like about the stock behold 2 image.

The snap to grid is part of android. For some reason Samsung thought that people would like their widgets and icons in a mess all over the screen.

If it didn't work, I would have added it! Post Title Say's Stock!

hey vibration works... but for some reason when i get a text message it doesn't vibrate... is it just me?? i did the reset couple of times... still doesn't work... i changed the settings around so it will vibrate when i receive a message but it doesn't... strange...
