Portable Charger safe?

I've been thinking about getting a portable charger. Not that I really need it but it would be nice to have for those days I go a little crazy with overuse of 4g, videos, and gaming.

Is this Skiva PowerVault safe for the Motion? I mean I thought I read somewhere that high speed chargers can damage the battery over time. I'm not sure if I read that or not so your input would be great.

Thanks.

I made me one that works great for about $5 in parts plus the cost of the AA rechargables, which I already had. Amazing the shyt ya can find with google. :D

The charger that comes with the phone is actually a rapid charger. If you look at the output ratings printed on it you'll see the current is 1.2A which is more than the USB standard of 500ma. When plugged into a standard charger the phone will charge at a slower rate and you'll see a "slow charging" notification.
A charger with a higher current rating is fine, the number is only an indication of the maximum output it can deliver. The phone is internally regulated and will only draw what it needs to operate and to safely charge the battery, it will not overcharge. Charging circuits for Li-ion batteries are very tightly controlled to minimize the risk of the battery overheating.
