Root Porting from VM to Ting?

Hello everyone I am a bit bummed out about possibly ditching VM but I have had nothing but problems with the service and i'm just fed up with it. I believed I saw another member port his phone to Ting and he said it worked after flashing over a sprint based evo 3d ROM. I am looking forward to gifting this phone to my little brother however I feel that Ting would be great for him as he would be in charge of the cost. So how easy is it to just port over? Is a simple rom flash the only thing necessary? What about the ESN and meid requirements that Ting is asking about? Hopefully this will be easy. I also want to give a shoutout to leslieann and mobz who have made the community here really great, your ROMs are excellent and I will be periodically checking in just for fun. So is there any rom that's a bit like Mobsters unlocked potential but that's sprint based? Thanks and sorry for the lengthy comment.
TL;DR What do I need to do specifically to port to ting? Thank you guys, you've been incredibly helpful.

We can't really discuss that as it can be illegal or even against the TOS of VM.

Why would you think it's illegal to port a phone that you fully own from a prepaid carrier with no contracts to another prepaid carrier with no contracts? Doesn't even make sense.

I guess that he's talking about flashing the phone to Sprint so that it can be used on Ting, AFAIK, Ting won't port a Virgin phone onto their service.

Are you sure about that? :o Someone said they ported to Ting on here in another thread a while back.

Hence why I said it's illegal or at least it can be because it involves getting a donor phone from Ting and swapping a lot of things identical to MEID's. I asked if I could flash the Evo V to Verizon Prepaid once but I almost got in trouble for talking about it and it just couldn't be done anyways.
