Root Porting Jellybean to the Evo V 4G?

I don't care if i get jelly bean all i want is the new Google search it looks awesome. You guys think well be able to get the Google search through a apk or through the Play store???

im just interested in the steps to take in order to do it so I can try maybe.. But i would like to see this come to our device sometime in the future.. :)

I think I've found the .apk that does this from the GalNex ROM. Is it called GoogleEars? I've tried to install it and it says it's installing then it says "Application not installed"

I put it in the system/apps file in the root directory too but it still doesn't start up. Anyone know why it won't work?
Only compatible with Android 4.1+?

I've got the APK still if anyone wants it.

I've installed the new google play store and also currents installs fine. Other than the those and the voice search, that's all I tried installing.

Having to play trial and error with some of the modules and stuff but things r looking good guys :) will hopefully be out around 4 (I have to go somewhere so im kicking in the afterburners

One of the devs here will probably have to change a couple of things to get it to work on our phones.

Maps and Google plus went in ok as well. Music, movies and tv, wallet and you tube I could not install just by opening the apk.

People need to learn to be patient and appreciate what they have. I'm on a pre-paid plan with a 3D phone running ICS, something many people don't have the luxury of owning or using. If you really want JB, start handling on the development yourself. : ) If you can't... then don't bug no one else about it. It will happen when it happens. Till then, enjoy that ice cream sandwich before it melts, for it's summertime!

Some people have worse phones on expensive plans :D

So I have never actually setup an apk as a system app as some have recommended to get these to work. What are the steps in root explorer to do that? Was going to see if I could get any of the other apk to work.

Started with wallet since that was one I didn't have as an app hoping to not mess anything up. Moved to apps in system. Fixed permissions. Rebooted. Still not showing up. I notice everything else in there has an odex as well but wallet does not. What step did I miss?

Why not just install the non root version?

I did that with ears but have not found non root versions of wallet, play, calendar or YouTube. None of those installed just through the apk.
