Help Portrait-format video

cats_five

Newbie
I have taken some videos holding my Nexus upright e.g. portrait format. When I download them to the PC the orientation is lost...

Is this a general Android problem? Is there an elegent solution? I've found some online but they seem to involve lots of other software and lots of steps.

How do you mean the orientation is lost? You wanted the video to play back with the image on it's side but it doesn't?

If that's it, I think it's actually pretty cool - I see lots of people shooting video in portrait and wonder if they realise it'll all be on it's side if they ever play it back on a PC or TV. Guess it would be good to be able to turn the feature off if you wanted to anything arty, of course.

Orientation is correct with still photos. If I alter it they will be wrong.

Looks like someone thinks video will always be played back in landscape regardless of how it was taken.
