Help Possible Ghost Message??

Alright, so I just got the epic a few days ago. I'm kindda OCD about organization on the messages for my phone. So as I was deleting a thread of texts on my phone, I got a text from the person at the same time that I deleted our thread. Now, an unread message icon shows up in the notification bar every time I open a completely DIFFERENT message in my notifications. If I slide down my notification bar to view it and click on it to read it, it takes me to a "Compose text" screen. I will delete my ENTIRE inbox, but on the home screen, my messages envelope still have a 1 unread message even with an empty inbox. Same when the phone is locked. Every time I lock it, the notification shows up again. If I slide down the notification bar and clear it, it shows back up again. I'm starting to get really pissed with this phone I've taken the battery out and almost everything under the sun. I never installed SMS chop or handcent or anything.

Any luck with this? I have exactly the same problem from exactly the same actions.

I don't get it with text but many times I would get it with voicemail where it would keep coming back for a couple days even though I reboot my phone, remove battery at least a couple times a day. I think in my case it might be the server where the voicemail resides. That's my guess. I'm not sure about your text issue's but I'm curious in case I run into it.
