possible reason we haven't gotten 2.2 yet

That looks like it is the x5. They just changed the name. 800mhz is a good bump in speed. It should be able to support flash. I would miss the trackball, though. I use it all the time.
 
I use the trackball just for going back for misspelled words in texts, forum posts, etc. It doesn't always function properly either. Not that important for me.
 
The trackball makes it a lot easier to click on a tiny line of text than trying to get your finger on it. I like that the back isn't shiny, but it looks like the camera lens sticks out too far. I'd really like a phone I don't have to put a case on next time.
 
Looked again and this is definitely NOT the same as the ideos x5. This looks like a downgrade from the x5. The x5 has a 3.8 inch screen, the ascend 2 has a 3.5 inch like the current ascend. the x5 also has rounder edges and looks like a higher end phone. This is disappointing. The ascend 2 better at least have a dedicated gpu or I won't be getting it. I was looking forward to the x5. I just wonder if the ascend 2 is being released instead of the x5 or in addition to the x5.

I know. How much could it cost to put a flash on a phone? My old phone is a nokia candy bar style with a 2mp camera and IT has a flash. And it takes way better pictures than this thing. I'll gladly pay the extra $5 it would cost for a flash. I'll pay $10 extra for some auto focus action lol.
 
$350 is for the samsung indulge. The ascend 2 is supposed to be the same price as the original. hard to tell from the pics, but I think it will have a 3.5mm jack. The deal maker or breaker for me will be if it has a dedicated gpu or not.
 
This new phone better be the witches tit, if it costs anywhere near $350 bucks! Seriously... Wouldn't be worth it... It lacks too many features. Then again, apparently metro is selling some higher end phones without flash also! ;)
