Root Possible root from stock recovery?

I just got this phone and im looking to root it but i have no pc acess on the warp if you labeled it as "update.zip" and signed it people were able to flash roms in stock recovery is that possible here? Can someone help me root
 
Theres no way to flash an unlocked stock bootloader thru itself maybe? Im tryin to think of a way to not need a pc and yes im 4.0.3
 
If its anything like my Evo 4g was, unlocking the bootloader is simple. But without a pc, you cant do it.
Can you borrow one or something?
I think what you might be thinking about is a PC36IMG (for the Evo4g, not sure what it is called for the Design) or an ruu. But that will install a stock rom/recovery etc.
In order to flash a custom rom, you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery. You need a computer for unlocking at least.

I may be totally wrong, but from briefly reading thru that guide, it is true. :)

I may find one but not till tomarrow can someone dropbox the unlock file i will need for the unlocking so i have it on hand and the superuser im gunna need to flash ill find a rom later

there is no unlock file. you will have to go to the HTCdev site. just follow the guide that mikey linked you to.
 
Not yet i have yet to gain access to a pc right now im workin on gettin my msl as well i most likley wont be able to root for a couple days
 
He wont be doing ctmod but says when he starts a new project he will stop by and start a thread to figure out what we will need to do on our end to get it
 
Yes i just worry that theres no one to donate an old phone or a semi busted on for him to work with that will be our biggest problem trying to get any dev here
 
So i went thru all the htc and gpt the unlocl cpde and such but when i was at the final step it wouldnt flash the unlock code due to unknown error any ideas
 
Yes and i even went thru the process a second time to make sure and it was in the folder as a bin file as well i checked perms and it was accessable to all so im not sure what the issue is
 
no, debugging box should be checked.
Let me just double check some things here.:) (based on how I did my Evo4G)
1. phone is in fastboot and the words "fastbootusb" are displayed? (phone plugged in) while entering the commands.
2. HTC Sync is installed? (just needed for the drivers...actually, you can uninstall htcsync but leave the drivers)
3. Nothing else is trying to communicate with the phone such as another sync program?
4. This is the command you are issuing in the command prompt:
Code: 
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
and is spelled correctly?
5. Java (run time environment) up to date and installed?
