Possible slider issues?

How well do you think the slider will hold up? Do you forsee any "oreo" effect later on? That absolutely kills me.

Every review I've read (which is every one that I can find) praises the slide mechanism. Only one mentioned a VERY slight movement that seemed insignificant.

Very true. I like to let mine float for a couple seconds first. I hate it when you're not quick enough and they sink!!

I would not forsee an issue with the slider, Samsung has been making phones with slide out keyboards for years. You should expect a little wobble as that keeps things from breaking. Last 2 phones with sliders from Samsung (Rant, Moment) were fine.

There wont be any issue with the slider mechanism. I've had this POS over two years and the slider on this is just as solid as the day I bought it.

My Moment is still going strong a year later, the slider is tight and smooth. It opens and closes with a nice click. And this has been one abused slider, I use the k/b to do just about everything.

I had a Moment and unfortunately used the "official" Sprint case and made it into an oreo. Was never the same after that. :(

Very good to know since I'll be using the hell out of my slider, as I'll need the physical keyboard for EVERYTHING. And I'm a textaholic. ;)

Samsung is a powerhouse in build quality my first samsung dumb phone got washed in washer dryer, still worked then again. battery shorted out but still worked with a different battery. Dad got angry and threw my Instinct across the room and still worked no damage. instinct drop but only scratches. Moment has taken a beating. I only go with samsung because of their proven quailty, I really dont care about firmware. If i was I wouldnt be on this forum

also firmware doesn't do crap if your hardware is faulty (Xbox 360)
