Help Possible to retrieve apps from SD card?

I just got back my phone from repair and the phone memory is all wiped out. However, my apps were all saved on the SD card. But when i went to setting to check the applications "On SD card", it shows no application. Is it possible to transfer the apps back to my phone?

If you downloaded and installed the apps via Android Market, then these should re-install by themselves when syncing to Google, although some may require a manual nudge via the Market.

For non-Market apps, you'll need to have the .apk file for each app (on your SD card). If you do, then you'll need an app like ASTRO File Manager to install them with. (You'll also need to allow the 'Unknown sources' option on your phone.)

If you're wondering about your settings and data for each app, it will depend on how each app stores them, as to whether you'll be able to regain them.
