Possible Work around for system updates not updating

Ok so my phone wouldn't update the profile, prl, or firmware. it would give me a connection error. All i did to get it to work was turn off 3G and try to update. it worked for me. any one having this problem that can try it and confirm?

to turn 3g off or on:
1. Go to Settings
2. Wireless & Networks
3. Mobile Networks
4. And Toggle 3G Data.

My message was connection error. ill try to see if i can get a solution for yours. did you try doing a reset?
