Post here if you received the OTA update.

no update, Im waiting patiently on a untouched stock TWz Behold 2, I have not even customized it to my own liking, because as soon as I get the update I am going to the galaxy rom! But it sucks because I cant really do much with my phone at the moment!:(
 
So will we not get the update if we haven't got it by now? Seems like a lot of people don't have it yet.

Also, If I bough my phone from ebay will I not get the update? It's not unlocked or anything though.

Final question for the people who have recieved the update do you have a data a plan and if so which one? The $30 (APN: epc.tmobile.com) on or $10 (APN: internet2.voicestream.com) one.
 
my samsung behold that didnt have the update slipped out of my hand =(, so i went to T-mo and i exchanged it. And the phone i got had the update already on it. and i had to exchange THAT phone because the camera wouldnt work. So the phone i had gotten after that had the update aswell.

so its safe to assume those who buy it here on out get the update preinstalled.

it also has 2.1 on it

just kidding.

You know I've been wondering if the data plan you have (or lack there of) effects how you recieve the OTA myself... Because I have got no data plan on my phone and I'm running solely off wifi for internet access. So I'm wondering if that's going to prevent me from getting the update all together.

And on top of all that I won my phone, so I've got even more doubts about when/if I'm going to receive this.

I just hope that one of us on this forum who receives the update will be generous enough to share that downloaded zip file before they hit the install button.

I have the $25 Android DATA plan with 400msgs and have yet to get the OTA update... so I don't think data plan has much to do with it.
 
I have the unlimited text and minutes and the 30 dollar data plan got my phone in mid december no update im starting to think that we are not gettin updates any time soon
 
I switched back to my iphone a few months ago because of how angry I was getting at the e-mail syncing issues, sd card , and virbration. This is stupid that it takes them this long to get the update out. I am so tired of companies now cutting down on testing since they can update OTA.... further more taking 10 years to send the update out. Yes I got the phone free, but it was wasted advertising dollars as I can't recommend this phone to friends, and tell them to not get it.

I charged this phone back up, put my sim in, and resynced exchange again two days ago... no update like almost everyone else here. If I don't get the update before exchange stops syncing again, I'll post the video of me smashing the phone. Nothing is more frustrating that missing appointments because your calander stopped syncing without notification.

Yes don't do that... make it a donation to one of the ROM COOKERS so that there is an extra phone to play with and get it working properly for others!
 
i hear you on this. as much as i like this phone, missing emails because it keeps stoping syncing is unacceptable. especially with my line of work, i need to be able to respond to my emails within minutes the clients send them.

P.S. I have stopped checking my software update...removing my battery etc. They had me for a minute, though. I actually thought they were going to come through! Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised over the weekend...
 
Well I think it is BS. I live in MT and can only use the flaming partners (cellular one). So I contacted T-mobile and made it all over their different tech support levels.they did tell me that the updates will continue through tomorrow. However if you don't live in a t-mobile network you will not receive the update. It is only transmitted through their service areas.
They said that there is no manual way to update. They also told me to call sanding since t-mobile is only distributing the update.
After contacting samsung I didn't get any further. They told me they only provided the update to t-mobile and that tmo was responsible for distribution. So I clled tmo back. There final answer was 'Sorry' .
On a side note they did tell me that rhyme and reason to distribution was random and the prerequisite was that your phone is active on a tmo data network for a minimum of 36 hours STRAIGHT! At which time their system considered your phone as a candidate and may or may not be selected. This came from three different reps.
Needless to say I'm just a little irritated with both companies!!

In that case I might not get it either because I switch my sim card back & forth between the Behold and Mytouch. Also when I go on the TMO my account website it only shows the Mytouch under my account. I called them for this specific reason and explaied my situation but they responded with an erouneous statement that all updates come from google.

Oh well I guess I'll wait on our devs to cook up something with the zip file.
