Post-HTC Update results?

Can folks chime in on how their texting and calling service has been since the update? So far, I haven't had any texting errors or calls not going through, which is a big difference from the operation of the phone before the update, but I probably don't use the texting as much as some folks. I have some local folks reporting they are still getting the texting errors frequently post-update.

Please post if you could and let us know approx how many days ago the update was applied to your phone, and what your results have been since.

Thanks.

Mine came Wednesday morning.
Before, I was restarting my EVO a couple times a day trying to cope with the errors. Even then I would get an error or two, or I could see the "difficulty" the EVO had with the connection.
After, I haven't restarted my phone at all and have not seen the same thing. So far, so good.

But to be honest, after the Triumph's GPS failures and now the EVO I don't trust Virgin Mobile at all. Also, I have no plans of buying anymore phones with Virgin Mobile. The next phone will be with another carrier.

Amen to that.
VM will never get my business again, and I'm planning to make a change after Christmas. They are absolutely the most unreliable and unpredictable carrier I have experienced in this area. It got so bad, the I had to buy a TracPhone just to have reliable phone service. I also steer away anyone asking me about them here. Just as an example, here is my latest speed test today which is typical. A little while ago, it took me 8 minutes to download a 3mb app, and I live 6/10th of a mile from the nearest tower.
As for the update, it has changed nothing for me, though I only had the text problem a couple times. My signal bars still flucates as wildly as usual.

I just learned that the one person mentioned in my original post that is still receiving the error actually hasn't received the update (based on their software version).

Even going to HTC Update, they haven't seen it yet.

I got the update on the 16th or something. No errors as far as radio go, but I still see signal fluctuations. Sometimes it takes about 15 seconds to send a text. But other than that, its not bad. Just wish that the speed was better at times. 3G should be a little faster than downloading an app at around 100kb/s when full service, right? I'd believe that at least...but hey, I'm not on a contract, so if tomorrow I decide to jump ship, at least I can.

I received the update on the 16th of November and had a few sms errors on the 20th I believe. But definitely improved. Internet browsing and downloading seems to be the same. My gf has the same phone and received the update a few days ago. Her internet and browsing is still poorer than mine. I always have a few bars more than her at all times. It's strange but vm offered to replace her phone. She has the sprint branded and received another sprint branded, but haven't activated it yet.

My Husband moved over to T-Mobile this past month and he reports full bars. It could be because we live in San Francisco :aetsch:. I have started to lose faith in Virgin Mobile. Although, I have not had issues with my current HTC Evo 3D, I have seen enough posts about the horrid error codes that has plagued many users.

Another problem is the percieved lack of an Android Software updates that are over the air. In addition, I am growing tired of HTC's decadence and might as well move over to Samsung. Finally, they have decent phones that are worth coveting.

For the moment, I am waiting for the next release of Samsung Galaxy phones to move. I am still eying on the Nexus 4 and plan on moving to T-Mobile or At&t.

I got the update three days ago and have had zero issues since. Also, where I live, there is zero service. However, I can now actually get one bar! That's better than it has ever been.
