Okay I finally found my happy place.

I really like the design of all of your screenshots. Im very interested in how you were able to get the wood background/notification bar. I want to change the top bar to a matching background like yours and I really want to change my icons. Im not real familiar with a lot of the vocabulary that goes on here so any help would be greatly appreciated. Is your phone rooted? If I were to root my phone do I still need a launcher program to obtain certain launcher based themes? Do you get most of your widgets off the pc or from the market? Sorry for the barrage of questions, its just the more I read the more confused I get, and I THOUGHT I was somewhat tech savvy. Thanks in advance.

This might sound kind of dumb because I'm new at this but....I've notice a lot of you have black status bars. How did you do this?! Is it a certain launcher or theme pack? I've been trying to figure this out for a while because the gray one just doesn't go with my black theme.

The grey wallpaper was originally blue. I can make it any shade you want but am away from my notebook till friday.
You can also check wallbase.net for others that you may like.

in most cases custom rom themes. you may need a deodexed rom to apply the best themes out there. check out stuff by R64/Darky at XDA

Thats the stock MIUI lanucher. The icons are part of the Black UPS darkness theme

The battery/temp/wifi widget is Elixir, free app. Very customizable as well, shows a lot of different data.

where did you get the blue icons? I downloaded the icons Jerseyboy put up, but they dont have the metro UI icons..
