All you need is a high res screenshot of your phone, and a high res picture of the phone, proper cropping, and boom you're good to go.

The rom I'm using on my vivd has something called Leedroid Tweaks on it. It lets me change the status bar color and transparency. Not sure if it is available on other roms/phones or not.
