I am using Launcherpro Plus as the launcher with a mod to make the pink notification bubble. Handcent has the pink notification icon in the status bar. Beautiful Widgets will the skin "Black Cashmere" is the time and weather widget.
The other two mods, the font and the status bar icons, requires root.
The second screen is Widget Locker with a personal mod. The time and date widget is Digiclock Donate.

Is this mod easily available and can the notification color be customised by the User?
Also does it affect the launcher Pro Plus component.

I didn't do this mod, someone else did so I don't know how to change it myself. The thread over at XDA has instructions how to do it yourself. Launcherpro Mod
No, the mod doesn't affect the app itself.

It's a built in theme that comes with the TaintedTenzo rom for the Eris. It was a port of another rom, just cannot remember which for the life of me.
