Didnt think it would require 3 670's....but after 60 FPS, what difference does it make?

My 670 is going back on a RMA, but when the new one gets here I might finally upload some pics of my inferior pc

Just curious why are you having to RMA your 670?
 
It makes this weird noise under load (especially when Folding) Rolo42 and a guy on the evga forums said I'm best trying to rma it :-(
 
My current build with her clothes (side panel) on. Next year she will get water cooling.

You can do it in easy stages to spread the cost. This guy does a series of Youtube videos First PC Build- Cooler Master HAF X Case - YouTube where he transfers the components from his old PC to a new HAF-X case, then gradually upgrades the components. Assuming you have a reasonable CPU you can get a really decent motherboard, and as you progressively upgrade you sell the old components on ebay to help towards the cost. Also you can buy good second hand components on ebay if you are careful - my Corsair H100 CPU cooler is boxed and used from ebay.I'm going to do full water cooling soon so the H100 will be sold and so it goes on.
 
Yeah thats the problem - upgrading is ADDICTIVE and as soon as you think "its finished" you see something and think "I need that"! My big problem is drinking with my pals Mr Stella and Mr Kronenberg, they keep talking me into buying new PC components and they say "you could order it right now on your phone". :mad:

No, I didn't.
After thinking if SLI would be worth it (this is when I thought I was getting a 570) i decided to save some money, and go for a smaller case and a cheaper motherboard.

My Asus P8Z77 V LX saved me around £3-40 and the case around £40 too. Am I glad that I did? I dunno.

But I think SLI only really makes a difference when the next model up is only 30% better and double the price. I mean, I was told SLI only makes a difference of 30%....

Thanks! Here's the home page for the fan controller Lamp Electronics There's a bewildering variety of fan controllers and the touch screen types seem to be the most popular but I think they tend to look a bit gaudy.
BTW I got a message from SpecialTech saying the Swiftech Apogee Gold waterblock was "listed by mistake" so the search goes on.... :mad:

Yeah I wouldnt mind some type of LCD/touchscreen but I'm not sure I care about fan controllers. I'd almost rather something with music controls or some such.

Maybe I will convert an old Android phone :D

Its an XSPC Raystorm Chrome CPU waterblock. The one I ordered (Apogee Gold) turned out to be "Out Of Stock" so this was the next best.I have loosely installed the fittings on it. Theres another version which allows for LED illumination but I have kind of OD'ed on LEDs and I am obsessive about cable management so I am looking forward to getting rid of my Corsair H100 cooler which adds 6 cables to my rig.

BTW I thought you guys might like to see this fab bit of computer animation on Youtube.
