Got a great sale price on this; it came yesterday. My old Cuisinart was having a power...some kind of power issue. Sometimes it wouldn't turn on, but unplugging and plugging it back in would 'fix' it. Other times, simply holding the 'on' switch in the on (up) position would do the trick.

One morning last week, my helper came to my door and said it wasn't working. I ran down all my tricks. She had done them all...to no avail. I walked to the kitchen, flipped its switch up and, voila!, it came right on. But we knew its days were numbered.

This one is the same capacity--but given my helper's knack for breaking things, including the previous one's glass carafe [luckily, I had a spare]--I specifically looked for something less breakable.

It came with a few paper filters, which I don't ever use, but the old one's permanent filter fit perfectly, so I don't need to buy another one.

Its first pot of coffee? Excellent! :D

So there is a flying J truck stop in Weed California and directly across from it well almost directly across from it is a grocery outlet
I went into buy bread and mustard and end getting more, I spent nearly $20 alone on various coffee drinks and teas. In the truck stops these drink range from $1.99-$3.99

Given my helper's propensity for breaking/losing things, I ended up buying new flatware. My previous set--which I bought about 6 months before I got sick, and definitely was complete when she moved in 3 years ago--was down to three, count 'em, *THREE* teaspoons, and various counts for its other pieces.

So last night I put the new set in the usual drawer, moved the previous pieces to the drawer next to it, and told her to only use those. :o I expect to be able to take inventory at any time and find 8 of each piece. Or else!
