Post Your Last Purchase

I loved the little Android-themed pouch that came with my Nexus One. I found a shop on eBay that sells them to fit larger phones (like my Pixel 2).

It's such a cheap little sleeve but the nostalgia is strong with this one.

Went to pick up a rice maker machine this morning from the post office since I wasn't in when the post guy delivered. I know, it's lazy to use such a machine but convenient.

And as for purchases I made today, well, basically food and fruit.

The saying 'Good times create weak men' and I'm guilty of that but I've promised to myself that I won't go down that path. I'd be ultimately the one to lose if I did.

Time to replace the laptop.

Got a refurb from Woot!

Sadly, it's going back.

I booted it up to check it out and it had a 60% charge so I just went through the initial windows setup before I turned it off. I plugged it in later to charge. Today I went to run updates and it recommended plugging it in while update, but when I did power settings put the screen at full brightness. That's when I noticed that there was burn-in on the screen. :( Oh well, back to shopping.

Let's try this again ... Refund for crappy laptop issued, so I just ordered this ...

ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP410UA-DB71T

  • Intel Core i7-7500U 2.7GHz Processor
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 1TB 5400RPM HDD

As soon as it's registered ... that 5,400 rpm dog of a HD is getting swapped out for an SSD.

Bought a bottle of orange x mango juiece and jamon chips.

Anyway, I'm currently living in my old pops house which they're abroad and i'm here to take my driver's license and while doing so, I've been fixing up the house so when they return, it'll be a lot better as no one has been tweaking it or anything for years. Once i'm done with the license, I'm gonna go elsewhere.

One recommendation for y'all: Never put the sofas against the walls 'cause that damages not only the wood on the sofas but the walls too, this is basic knowledge but people still do it regardless.

Went to the supermarket which is about 10-15mins to purchase bread, orange-mango juice and roasted chicken (plus some chips to go along with it later). Once that done, while the building isn't mine, the apartment is part of it so I decided to clean the windows, floor and tuck in any loose screws on the door.

Apparently the owner cleans (he charges an X each month to the residents) it but I doubt it, it looked like no one had done it for ages.

Besides that, I noticed I'm dropping from the 200 lbs weight that I have and glad, cause I've been wanting to lose that extra weight for some time now. Eating healthy and in moderate doses helps a lot, I rarely eat meat nowadays but once every week/month doesn't hurt.

Bought an old Ford Taurus for a few hundred bucks needing a decent amount of mechanical work. Wife cleaned it and I am nearly done with the last item for repair which is a heater core. No fun at all on these cars. The car will then be "lent" to a neighbor who is a single mom with 2 boys struggling to rebuild after divorce. Her car is about to be repossessed and she was beside herself so we at least were able to remove that stress for her

As a side thing I repair vehicles. This car has been to me for nearly every repair it has ever needed so I know the quality of work that had been put into it :D
