I like the Malt-o-Meal brand because it's generally BETTER than the name brands and costs a lot less. If you like chocolate milk, you might want to consider chocolate protein shakes like Premier Protein. Tastes great and has 30 grams of lean protein in each serving. One of the best things we can do for our bodies is give it protein first thing in the morning: I'll eat a protein bar with my coffee or even slam a shake while my coffee is brewing. Mocha breath, too!

Where you an advertise guy way back in your hayday lol.

We all market in one way or another: but no, I'm just passing on a good thing.

BTW my crypto purchase FINALLY went through, so that ordeal has come to a successful end. Now I get to buy a Ford Explorer door repair for my birthday Monday! Hoo wee lucky me!
yeah I might get new hearing aids on Monday too, I did made an appoitment then!

The Boss Lady said, last night, that she wanted to go out this morning to look for a new car.
We came home with this Hyundai Tucson, this afternoon.

Proper pic later ...

I will post up my left hearing aid wire soonish :) I got it for free the warantty was just barely a smidge of ordering it just underneath too.. Ahhhhh I can hear everything well with both ears now.

that with milk and a few grocries too.

Today, a bag of pretzels, some more pirate's booty off brand cheetos munchies, Gatorade, Ginger Ale, a new bottle of shampoo, bananas too, a few frozen Jimmy Dean's instant microwavable breakfasts.

I noticed the crystal was broken on the fuel gauge of my Grasshopper mower this morning. It has been difficult to read the gauge through the discolored lens for some time. Mosquito spray containing Deet and a rag will vastly improve that. Works wonders on plastic covers on auto headlights as well. Not easily seeing through the plastic I could live with. The lens broken I can not have. It will let rain water into the gas tank and water in fuel injected engines is all bad. I ordered a new fuel gauge.

I found a guy selling an HF amateur transceiver and power supply: he made me an offer I couldn't refuse!

Problem is, I can't use it yet. I have an antenna picked out... now it's a matter of where to put the antenna, run the cable between it and the radio (and ground it in case of lightning strike), and have an electrician replace the 15 Amp breaker for my office with a 2-pole 45 Amp breaker. If I try to key up a 100 Watt transmitter running from a 30 Amp power supply, the existing breaker will pop every time! Once I have all that worked out, I should be able to communicate with people around the world.

UPDATE: Turns out I can't just have a 45 Amp breaker installed. The amperage of the breaker is determined by the gauge of the wire: so the 15 amp service to the office is probably 14-gauge wiring - where a 45 amp service would require a MUCH thicker 6-gauge wire. He offered to quote me on installing a separate 45 amp branch to that room, with dedicated outlets and all, but that's WAY more trouble than it's worth for this house. If we can't find land for the house we designed, or a new house we like, I might consider it but not right now...

What transceiver, where did you purchase it?

A 15A circuit is more than adequate for a 100 watt radio, especially for single sideband.
30A at 13.8V is just over 400W so your 100W transceiver won't draw anywhere near that (it will draw well over 100W because it's not 100% efficient).

You shouldn't need to upgrade your electrical service unless you already have enough load on the circuit that this will put it over edge. You probably don't think twice about plugging in a hair dryer and that takes a lot more power than your radio.

I bought the ICOM 7300 with a separate power supply. I'm balancing duty cycle and existing load: along with the power supply's rated current demand. I understand that I may not always have to transmit at 100 Watts: but this office also has my desktop (which I use for work); our NAS (which is our personal networked storage with ALL our critical data on it); and our network video recorder that powers our security cameras 24/7. The last thing I need is to overstress the UPS our electronics are on. And I didn't determine that: a licensed electrician did. While I was a Navy Chief Electronics Technician, the last time I actually worked in my field of expertise was 27-1/2 years ago, so I defer to him for the little things I have likely forgotten... and yes, I'm dismayed to admit, I have forgotten stuff.

The used market for the 7300's is very good right now, due to a combination of them being a good value even new and a lot of them being sold because the newer model (Mk2) is out and people are upgrading. If you got it in the $700-ish range you did well especially if the supply was included.

The power supply rating is not its demand but the maximum output it can provide. The demand comes from the connected device(s) so the actual draw will be only what those devices require.

The other devices you listed on the circuit probably total a few hundred watts (unless you have a humongous gaming PC which would likely draw more power on its own than the transceiver). Also if you have all of that on a UPS I would NOT put the ham rig on it as well. It doesn't really need to be on a UPS at all but I would consider running it on a separate circuit from the important electronic devices.

An equally important consideration, if not more so, is management of potential RFI/EMI from the radio when transmitting. This will have a lot to do with the design and quality of your antenna and cable and you want to make sure that the RF is all going to the antenna and not floating around the room. The last thing you want is a PC/drive/modem crash from stray RF. Proper grounding is important as well both for RF management and protection from lightning.

If at all possible, have a new home run on a new 20 amp or more breaker vs a heavier breaker on the 15 amp circuit that exists. I had to upgrade my service years ago when supplying power to a hot tub. My house is old so it had no ground fault interrupts. Adding those circuits to the baths and exterior, new 50 amp supply for the tub, and two new 20 amp circuits to my office made me feel so much better. I had piggie backed and installed split circuit breakers.... basically robbing peter to pay paul for years. It's a wonder I didn't burn the house down.

I ordered two new bicycle tubes. I refuse to put a fourth patch on a tube. I also ordered a flat preventative product called Flatout. I tried Slime years ago and decided it was a bad joke. I hope I have a higher opinion of Flatout after using it.
