Is soft just as good? This is the one I owned with my S3 only it was Blue Case

It was silicone and was somewhat flexible but not very soft. I just want to make sure I do it right with this phone.

I see ones like that show up at those mall kiosks time to time. I'm sure that the SG3 will have a line there, so perhaps the N2 will as well. I'd start looking whenever you happen to find yourself at the mall.

Then you'll get the case you want, from China, without ever having to order it! :P

I may just order both cases and see what happens (the cost of both cases is still $25 less than a SquareTrade warranty, and there's no deductible). I've dropped my old iPhone 4 probably 10 times since it came out and the OtterBox has served me well, but it was a Defender series, and it's let me use the phone worry free. I'm just wondering if the Commuter will give me the same piece of mind as the Defender.

I can't answer your question, but if you fear breaking the phone you should get the insurance so that it can be replaced.

You are SO right! Mall kiosk always seem to have those same cases.

I absolutely want low profile. The phone is already big and I'm not looking for anything bigger. I don't want a front cover either as I tried one and personally found it awkward to use with this flap attached and kind of tucked back.

Yes, I want low profile too which is why, like I said, I bought this one for only TEN CENTS. :) plus shipping. Another great thing about this phone is that if the back does scratch up its only $10 to buy a new one from Samsung but I don't think I will care if the back scratches cause I will have at least something similar to this case on this phone all the time anyways. heheh
 
I also want to give a shout out for one of the best cloths I've used. ClothAddiction

Not a self-plug I have no affiliation with them. I used to use the little sunglass baggies or buy the cloths from the sunglass hut but they were still bulky and tough to stick in a tablet case. These ClothAddiction ones are MAD thin, and they work like a charm. You get a big and small one from the standard order, so worth it. Keeping your screen clean and lint away from it helps to reduce any getting in under the case.

I like to use Otterbox cases as well. I drop my phone more than I care to admit (mainly on carpet though. ha)

The commuter does protect well without the extra thickness of the Defender. However, you have no screen protection with the commuter and the face of the phone is sort of exposed. The ultimate drop protection is the defender...hands down. I am waiting on Otterbox to release those myself. In the meantime, I'm using a cheap $10 case until then. It's rubber and plastic (hybrid) and it covers that same area as the commuter would.

This case like alot of others is a tpu. I don't like rubbery, jelly-like cases. It's softer with a great grip.
 
Just got my otterbox commuter case today.

Well the case fits just like any other Otterbox case i have had.. The screen protector that comes with the Otterbox i hardly never use but i did want to try it out just to make sure it worked with the S-pen and it works without any issues.

I went with the black because i notice white/light grey cases tend to get dirty looking over time.

The price is a little high then usual since they are only available from the Otterbox site but if you find a coupon code like i did you can save a few bucks and get free shipping. What really sucks is they charge sales tax EVERYWHERE, no matter what state you are in ( which is odd ). Some will choose to wait until it hits Amazon to save money ( i have Prime myself ) but i couldnt stand dealing with the cheap 10 dollar case i got from Amazon anymore.

Case goes on very easy. Nice tight snug fit. Not overly tight like on certain phones. All port cut outs are perfect.

The cutout for the charging cable fits PERFECT with the stock Samsung charging cable. Its a exact fit, So if you have another off brand cable you use that is a hair bigger on either side, it probably wont fit.

The only thing i was concerned about was the camera cutout ( its almost right up next to the silver trim around the lens. After installation though i checked it out and took some pics and the case does not block the lens at all ( nor does the flash ) so everything is good there.

All in All it fits like a glove! Everything is perfectly cut. Power and volume buttons work perfectly and no added force is needed ( it wont depress a button while in your pocket )

Here is my Apex case which I purchased from a company called casewear on ebay.

My only negative is the silicone part of the case could have been a bit more thicker

I received my Cruzerlite TPU case today: Amazon.com: Cruzerlite Smoke Androidified TPU Case For Samsung Galaxy Note II (AT&T, International models, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless): Cell Phones & Accessories

Pros:
Cool Android guy on the back
Ridged sides make the phone infinitely easier to handle
Lip around the front means you can lay the phone face down without touching the surface it's on
Smoked color generally complements the titanium

Cons:
Fit seems off. I had a Diztronic TPU case on my EVO, and it fit like a glove. It fit tightly, but not so tightly that you couldn't get it off when you needed too. This one is very tight on the bottom but somewhat loose on the top. Not so loose that I'm worried it will come off, but you can feel a little extra space up there if you push down from the top.

The cutouts for the camera and bottom ports are slightly off. Probably not enough to affect performance, but when you spend $700+ on a phone, you want the case to fit and be aligned correctly.

I will almost certainly not use this case in the long term. I've already got an Anker case with kickstand on the way. I'm really waiting for Diztronic to release their offerings, because their EVO case was so perfect I never felt the need to try anything else out. As for the Cruzerlite, I can't recommend it.
 
Evo, that case looks good. My company doesn't allow us to bring our cell phones inside. We have to leave them in our cars. Sometimes my phone dies cause it's too cold outside during the winter.

Want to buy one of those neoprene covers.
 
I bought two cases. Both work just as well. I like the cheap one that I bought on ebay cause it doesn't slide around.

The Otter Box Defender's okay, but it slips a little.

Do you mean the commuter case? Otterbox hasn't released the defender yet.

I bought the Grey Samsung OEM Flip Cover case. I'm going to return it today and pick up one of those wallet/ cases. Alice's above is perfect!

After using the ZuGadget one for several days, I am so glad I made the switch to this one. It just feels so secure compared to that one. :)

I hope so too! It looks like a great case since I don't carry a wallet. I could probably just throw my DL and a CC in there with the phablet and call it a day.

Question though, do you see any issues accessing the S_Pen with the case on? I see that there is a cutout, but can't tell if it hinders removal.

On the ZuGadget one, it had the same cutout but it was damn near impossible to retrieve the pen.

This one, I can surprisingly get the pen out with very little effort on my part. I don't know what the difference is there, maybe because the ZuGadget one seemed to have an extra layer of something that this does not, but I haven't had any issues getting it out at all.

But yeah, I usually carry my two CC's and my DL on me. Only thing I wish it had was the full side pocket (under the CC area) like the ZuGadget had, so I could fit my insurance card in there. OH WELL! ;)

the leather one reminds me of my blackberry bold 9000 battery cover from a few years ago....best keyboard ever made hands down
