Taken with the dreaded selfie stick, in the stateroom on the cruise - first night before dinner.

You'll be pleased to know that ... We only took 7 (Yes SEVEN) pictures with the selfie stick the entire 10 days we were gone, and none of them after this shot (the first day on the cruise).

They really are useless baggage.

We saw them All over Paris (the sticks, the signs prohibiting them and the street vendors who were hawking them for €10).

I saw them all over the ship and the ports, I just found it to be tedious and just more crap to carry. We mostly used our little waterproof Nikon camera - takes great pics and it's water and shock proof, also geo tags photos and is WiFi enabled (so we could take "selfies" using our phone as the "trigger) ... the selfie stick was a huge pain in the butt (and great way to miss that special shot) if you are pulling out a selfie stick, putting your phone on it, extending it and positioning it.

But to each their own right?

I think your credibility is OK. Now your Dad's, well, that may be up for debate.
