Help Potentially dumb question....

I'm still pretty new to Android and this is my very first smart phone, so I apologize if my question is ridiculous or already been discussed. :o When I hook my android up to my computer via usb and start looking through files to copy/paste/delete, can I accidentally delete something that would mess my phone up?

*I have not rooted my phone and I don't intend to, if that makes a difference in the answer to my question. Thanks for any responses.

Without rooting, you only have access to the files on the sd card. You could delete a data file that might cause an app to misbehave, but it would be easily rectified with a re-install. Enjoy your new phone!

Okay, this is what I was hoping the answer would be. Thank you very much! :)
